Uniform/dress code Information 

Key stage 3:

Uniform;

  • Plain black or dark trousers (no logos, no jeans or leggings)
  • College Central white polo shirt or plain white polo shirt
  • College Central jumper
  • Plain black shoes

Uniform will be provided for pupils at key stage 3 at no cost, however any item that needs replacing will need to be paid for.

If a student is not in uniform their options are:

  1. Borrow some from school in exchange for a phone/bus pass etc which they will get back upon return of the borrowed item.  If they refuse;
  2. Parent/carer is contacted and agrees to bring in correct uniform for the pupil to change into and the pupil waits with SLT/Key stage lead until uniform is changed.
  3. If they refuse then the student will be internal isolated* for the day and parents will bring them in appropriately dressed the next day for a meeting with SLT.
  4. If they refuse to engage with this process and follow the instructions of SLT they are out of our control and arrangements will be made to send them home to return the next day with parent/carer for a meeting with SLT

*internal isolation where possible, where this is not possible students will go straight to step 4

Key stage 4:

We expect and encourage students to dress for school as they would for a post 16 destination e.g. college, apprenticeship etc.  We recommend appropriate dress, which would help students to make a good first impression.

Dress code

  • Dark colored, plain bottoms. No leggings or logos.
  • Appropriate top, shirt, t-shirt, jumper.
  • Footwear should be plain black with no logos.  No flip flops, sandals or sliders.

The following items must not be worn inside the building:

  • hats, caps, scarves or gloves
  • non-religious head wraps/scarfs; bandannas are not to be worn
  • hooded sweatshirts
  • coats or jackets
  • inappropriate items of clothing: these may include but are not limited to:
    • offence language or symbolism displayed on clothing
    • low cut tops
    • strap shoulder tops
    • pyjamas or sleep wear
    • outfits which display a pupils midriff

Pupils can carry their outdoor clothing with them or store it in an area agreed with their key stage lead.

The costs of the uniform is £6.99 for a white polo shirt, £12.99 for a black jumper and £6.99 for a pale blue T-shirt for PE

School Meals

We have school meals provided by Chartwells. The system is cashless, and will require use of Parent Pay. We are a nut-free school and ask students not to bring nuts/nut products into school.
