New Horizons Special School is a nurturing and inclusive specialist provision for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our mission is to re-engage young people with learning, raise aspirations and ensure every pupil achieves positive academic, social and emotional outcomes. We place relationships, wellbeing and personalised learning at the heart of everything we do, creating an environment where pupils feel safe, valued and able to succeed.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and inspirational Teacher of Science to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner to teach Science across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, whilst supporting the development and delivery of Science throughout the school. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a coherent and progressive Science curriculum from primary through to secondary, supporting colleagues with curriculum delivery and sharing subject expertise where appropriate.

The role will also involve delivering accredited pathways, including Entry Level, Level 1 and BTEC qualifications, and may include vocational programmes such as land-based studies and other practical learning opportunities. We are looking for someone who can inspire curiosity, develop scientific understanding and create meaningful learning experiences that prepare pupils for their next stages of education, employment and adulthood. We would welcome applications from candidates that can offer the teaching of other curriculum areas.

Experience of working with pupils with additional needs would be advantageous, but applications are welcomed from excellent teachers who are committed to inclusive education and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.

The successful candidate will be joining a school and Trust that are ambitious for their pupils and staff. You will work within a highly supportive and collaborative team where professional development is valued and opportunities for growth are actively encouraged.

We strongly encourage prospective applicants to visit our school. If you would like to arrange a visit or have an informal discussion about the role, please contact Ross Maryan, Principal, on 01323 691000 or via email at office.nh@sabden.org.uk.

We are three special schools and we strive to discover success through learning, self-belief and achievement.
