Performance Data 2022-23

Analysis of KS1 and KS2 Attainment 

  • 67% of pupils have made 2 points progress or more across Reading, Writing and Maths between September and July.
  • 67% of pupils have made greater than 25% coverage of the key objectives between September and July.
  • 46% of pupils have made greater than 50% coverage of the key objectives between September and July, evidencing the closing of the skills and knowledge gap.
  • 33% of pupils have made 3+ points of progress over the year, evidencing some accelerated learning across Reading, Writing and Maths.
  • The key objective percentages are good and demonstrate a closing of the skills and knowledge gap.
  • Consistency across the year group despite the wide variety of starting points, ranging from pre key stage to upper key stage two mastery, highlighting effective differentiation.
  • SATS data now includes Tower House pupils.
  • The small number of pupils means that any absence data has a significant  impact on the value added score.
  • 4/13 pupils from year 6 did not undertake the majority of their SATS due to working significantly below the standard of the test.
  • In reading, all pupils who took the assessment achieved within the Pre Key Stage standard descriptors, between PK6 and PK2 with 50% working at the expected standard for Key Stage 1.
  • In maths, pupils who took the assessment achieved within the Pre Key Stage standard descriptors, between PK3 and PK6 with 50% working either towards or at the expected standards for Key Stage 1.
  • In writing, all pupils who took the assessment achieved between the Pre Key Stage standard descriptors, PK4 and PK6, with 66% working towards or at the expected standard for Key Stage 1.
  • 4/10 pupils from year 6 did not undertake their SATS due to working significantly below the standard of the test.
  • Inclusion of FLP pupils impacts data as there are a variety of different start and end points with some not completing a full year.
  • 30% of Year 6 cohort were summer born with 20% speaking English as a second or additional language.

 

GCSE Results Summary

The 2023 exam season saw a return to pre-Covid examinations, fully examiner assessed qualifications, with grade boundaries similar to 2019. This ended three years of disruption due to the Covid Pandemic where a combination of teacher led assessment and reduced grade boundaries were used for results in 2020, 21 and 22.

The results below are for pupils who attended year 11 and sat exams.

The 2023 cohort sat a broad range of qualifications with all students achieving passes in Maths, English Language, English Literature, Double Science, Geography, Art, DT, Citizenship and PE. Some students also completed Cambridge Nationals in iMedia and BTEC Construction.

The average number of qualifications per pupil was up this year, reflecting the abilities of the cohort, their good attendance and application to learning.

Our most successful student achieved 11 qualifications with grade 4s and 5s in Maths, English, Double Science, Geography, Citizenship and PE as well as a Distinction in iMedia and a Pass in BTEC Construction.

All students in the 2023 exam cohort have gone on to further education at local colleges or sixth forms.
